SPring-8 LEPS2 beamline: A facility to produce a multi-GeV photon beam via laser Compton scattering

We have constructed a new laser-Compton-scattering facility, called the LEPS2 beamline, at 8-GeV electron storage ring, SPring-8. This facility provides linearly polarized photon beam in tagged energy range of 1.3--2.4 GeV. Thanks to small divergence low-emittance storage-ring electrons, has size (sigma) suppressed about 4 mm even after it travels 130 m experimental building that is independent ring and contains large detector systems. beamline designed achieve intensity higher than first SPring-8 by adopting simultaneous injection up four high-power laser beams increasing transmittance for long photon-beam path 77%. The under operation hadron photoproduction experiments.
